About the Role
This role is a customer centric role and requires managing customer enquiries face to face, via email and over the phone. This role produces, sends, tracks, and records notifications, referrals and letters to residents, businesses and community members. In addition, you will generate regular and adhoc reports, process and track requisitions and invoices, book meetings, create agendas and complete minute taking.
About You
Are you passionate about creating positive change for young people, children, and families in a diverse community? The City of Ryde is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Community Development Officer to design, lead and support community development and wellbeing initiatives. This role is a 12 month maternity leave position. In this role, you will develop and implement place-based projects that foster social connection, build local capacity, and empower communities – particularly those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
You’ll be responsible for leading strategic projects, building strong partnerships with local stakeholders, and providing informed responses to emerging community needs through research and data analysis. As a key liaison for the City of Ryde Youth Council, your ability to engage, collaborate and deliver tangible community outcomes will be essential. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a progressive and community-focused local government.
Key Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social sciences or a similar field or demonstrated, relevant equivalent professional experience and training.
- Proven experience working with community members and community groups and organisations.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and networking skills with track record of building and maintaining strategic partnerships.
- Proven experience in managing projects, events and creative initiatives leading to successful community outcomes
- Valid NSW Working with Children Check
Your commencing annual salary will start between $98,089.02 + $107,213.58 superannuation, dependent on your experience and qualifications.
