The opportunity

Support the day-to-day operations of the Transport team within the Infrastructure Strategy and Planning Division, providing high-level administrative support in a fast-paced and varied environment.

This is not a traditional "task-based" admin role - you'll play a key part in supporting a fast-paced team, managing customer requests, coordinating documentation and processes, while contributing to improvements that enhance the way we work.

You'll partner closely with technical staff, customer service teams, and stakeholders across Council and the community to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You'll be part of a supportive team, contributing to projects and services that directly impact how our community moves and connects every day.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will:

  • Provide high-quality administrative and business support across a diverse and dynamic transport environment
  • Manage and respond to customer requests, enquiries, and correspondence within required timeframes
  • Coordinate documentation, reporting, and records management processes (including procurement systems)
  • Assist with internal and external meetings, including preparing materials and recording minutes
  • Support communication with the community and stakeholders, including written responses and project updates
  • Take ownership of your work, managing tasks through to completion with minimal supervision
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing systems and processes to enhance team efficiency and customer experience
  • Utilise adept IT skills, including Microsoft Office, to deliver accurate and professional outputs
  • Build strong working relationships across teams, stakeholders, and the wider organisation

About you

You are a highly experienced, capable and proactive administrative professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. You bring strong experience in business support and process improvement, along with s solid IT skills (including Microsoft Office) and the ability to quickly learn new systems and tools. You have demonstrated experience in developing, reviewing and managing administrative systems and processes, and you are motivated to continually improve the way work is delivered.

With a high level of initiative, you take ownership of your work, manage competing priorities effectively, and consistently deliver accurate, high-quality outcomes. You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders. You work effectively both independently and as part of a team, contributing positively to team outcomes and culture.

Importantly, you don't just complete tasks - you look for better ways of doing things. You actively identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and service delivery, demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and make a valuable, ongoing contribution to the team and broader organisation.

This is a permanent full time 35 hour per position. Salary from : $78,929 up to $94,897 per annum plus superannuation (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications) A minimum increase of 3.25% to the salary from 1 July 2026 in accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement.
